Causes of revolt of 1857  Though the revolt was started by the sepoy because of replaced ment of brown bash rifles by enfield rifles in 1856 but its was the historical factors and policy of company that intensify the war at greater level and was resulted in the mass participation  Some of historical causes was are as follows:- =》Economic  -- land revenue policy = peasants were highly suffer result in decline of agriculture -- Industrial policy = affected indian traders and merchants (chater act of 1813 and 1833) =》Political  -- subsidiary alliance e.g.Awadh -- doctorine of lapse introduced by dalhousie e.g. jhansi =》socio-religious factor -- sati abolition act , 1829 -- women education(wood dispatch), 1854 -- widow re-marriage act,1856 -- Religious disability act ,1856 =》military causes -- indian sepoy not supposed to go to higher rank  -- indian were paid less for same rank  -- indian sepoy were not getting bhatta after punjab annexation

Rani Lakshmi Bai is the real fighter of Independence aur for self interest

Role of rani lakshmibai in revolt of 1857 : is she realy fighting for independence or for self interest Rani Lakshmibai -gangadhar rao they were adopted son damodar rao but according to the DOCTRINE OF LAPSE policy proposed by lord dalhousie , it stated that if an indian state lost its natural hire than it would be loosing the right to rule and that’s state would lapse into companies territories and state of jhansi was lapse into companies territories in 1853 under doctorine of lapse policy This action of company angered lakshmibai but still before revolt of 1857 he demanded the right to rule jhansi from company and if company would fillful her demand than she will not participate in revolt of 1857 but company completely refues her demand and that lead to fight between lakshmibai and company under leadership of sir huges , rani lakshibai was defeated by company in jhansi and then she went to gwalior with tantia tope seeking help from scindia of gwalior but scindia were with compa...
